None of these are because of a contract you made with T-Mobile.  They come
pre-installed on Google's Android OS.  They gave them to you on that OS,
free of charge, because they own the apps and can distribute them.

As far as CyanogenMod goes, if they wanted to write their own apps and
include them with the install, then they could do the same thing.  These
pre-installed apps would be particular to the OS they made, and they would
have the right to not want to distribute them if they pleased.
