It was difficult trying to compose this post from the Android browser, in the end I gave up, and didn't notice the previous posting!
I was surprised at the response this thread got, although it does make sense. As I recall google stated the reason they created Android was because they got annoyed at how hard it was to develop applications for other OSs, and wanted to make it easier. In my opinion one of the ways they support the platform is by releases applications for it.
