String, Fell free to copy all the component files from the appspot server for a play (http://wtp2.appspot.com/mobile/gears_manifest.js - Chrome version is mobilecr.htm + mobilecr.js) but please apply to OS OpenSpace for your own API key.
Screen rotation on OperaMobile 9.7 on my HTC Touch HD is rubbish too. I can make the map 'slip' with stylus/finger drag by setting 'Text Selection' on in OperaMobile 9.7 Route load (of routes saved from my desktop app at http://wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepath.htm ) will come from Google MyMaps. I plan to increase the vertical spacing of the menu buttons to make finger selection easier.
