All you posted is untrue scott. We never said any of that stuff at all. We
don't have anything on our site for download either. All it is is words and
responders. Again no applications on website.

Greetings,

We (SoftwareForMe.com) sell PhoneMyPC, a hosted Android PC-Remote.

I'd like to share our take.

* What Nick (Tony, whoever) is doing is earning money selling our
products, in stead of us
* He has bypassed obvious and known security mechanisms (Google's copy-
protection), or colluded with someone who has, in violation of the DRM
laws
* He claims to only deal with $0.99 apps. This is a lie; our app costs
$4.99
* He implies that cheap apps are okay to steal, but this is a
rationalization: theft is theft, regardless the price
* He implies that others are doing it, so he should be able to as
well. Another rationalization, again, consensus can't make theft okay
* He implies that stealing only non copy-protected apps is okay. This
too is a rationalization, and violates the terms in most applications
(and in the google market)
* He claims he is trying to help the android community, but robbing
the hard working developers of their fairly and honestly earned fees--
no matter how small--is blatantly detrimental to the Android community
* He claims he "wants" to help developers sell their apps and give
them money. This 'straw man' is irrelevant because it's not what he's
doing

Nick/Tony have advertised broadly and vociferously and are making a
business selling our goods, violating several laws in the process and
causing damage to the developers, users, market and the Android
platform itself.

We all know there is a hacker community--heck, many developers are
part of it--and we expect this sort of energy around any great
platform. But this is not at all what is happening here. This is
organized crime.

I think if it were possible that such blatant behavior could be an
accident, a proper apology would include, at a minimum, a disclosure
including:
1) A complete list of customers holding illicit copies
2) Proper payment in full for each application illegally distributed

And finally, to the many users of PhoneMyPC who cannot make the
application work after having purchased it from AndroidPlayground:
we're sorry. We did not build in an auto-update feature, nor gear our
support to include pirated copies of the application. Please request
your money back from AndroidPlayground and purchase the application
from the Android Market.
