Confirming this is the way GV works on all providers. The way us TMoblers are getting benefit from GV, is we can assign the GV number as one of our "Fav 5" numbers, which is unlimited.
Not sure if Verizon has the same sort of package, but that is necessary to get unlimited dialing using the GV app. There are many benefits of GV otherwise, so it is a big benefit that Verizon is allowing the app in the first place, and a big benefit of the droid over the "other" phone on AT&T. Quite frankly, it seems reasonable that you should have to pay for your minutes if you are using them on the phone in the first place.
