The cost is less than 30.  at least in my case(Verizon).  it is a
really good tool to have becuse not all the time I have hot spots to
piggy back on especially when you are on the road.  You are right the
e-mail functions of the phone will get disabled as well as sync
options,  however the phone will work somewhat,  if a call comes in
you will see the caller(name etc) if you answer the internet to your
laptop is gone.  it is an OK traidoff.  I do hope some developer
develops the app.
