Personally, I think it will be a bit of a niche device. This should have
come out before the iphone. It resembles a massive one! Doesn't technology
get smaller, not bigger?!
If I get one in the UK, then I'll ditch all my data plans -- on my mobile,
bb, laptop etc, and get one of those MiFi devices, that have a SIM in them,
and then project a wireless net in the locallity of the device. So, have it
in my pocket on the train, reading my RSS feeds on my iPad, (sounds like a
product design for the socially aware woman, that should allow her to
continue to enjoy life regardsless of what tim eof the month it is!! -- Q
women roller blading, and going out to dinner parties)
Anyway! Getting this on a data plan, I do not think makes sense seeing as it
has wifi, and if your on the road all the time, or in multiple locations
with limited, or unknown internet capabilities, then a device with no
keyboard may not be your best friend. Either way, Apple has to raise the bar
with this, and they did so. It's a working product, that I'd like to use to
surf the web, maybe some remote RDP and remote X sessions. Remember, this
thing is to view information, not process it. If i can show me my web pages,
my emails, stream my music from spotify, and play my videos, then that's all
i want it for.
