I tried to watch the apple keynote, but Apple isn't as good at video as they think. The good video clients on the iPhone aren't made by Apple. I repeatedly tried to watch the iPad keynote, but I kept pausing to do some work, and then it would not unpause. So I fired up my iPod touch. It took some time to boot, and update some apps, and then took some time to load the video. The video played at 2x speed but the audio played at 1x speed. > Too dependant on apps designed for smaller screens (140k apps, 139,900+ > designed for 480x320) Well my last iPhone app had identical UI to my last Android app, and when I designed the Android app I did a pretty good job of designing for multiple screen sizes. And seriously a bigger screen usually don't make an app worse, it just makes it look less professional. You get gradient banding the first time you do it, so you just dither it and add noise. I think. I'm using terms that only make sense to Engineers that use Photoshop. > > To me it's a third product type, but one that is likely to fall down the > crack between the air and iPod. Well thats what people said about the iPhone. I expect iPod sales, which have been declining, to plummet as the iPad cannibalizes every other apple product, in terms of sales. Apple seems to be all in on the iPad. > > Before anyone says it; I do most of my day to day work on a Mac, use an > iPod Touch, and like Apple products in general, so I'm not an > Apple-hater, but I've yet to hear from anyone thats going to join the > pre-order queue. I only like the iPod touch and better. My last job was at an Apple shop. I think Steve Jobs has some grudges, and I think he refuses to hire anyone that has ever used Windows or Linux more then a Mac, at any time in their lives. Why has no one written File Explorer for the Mac? Also have you ever tried to configure the keys to work properly on a logitech keyboard, on a Mac? It takes several ugly hacks, and then those hacks will break apps that have already hacked around that problem themselves. > > Al. > -- > Looking for Android apps - Tryhttp://andappstore.com/ > > On 27/01/2010 20:26, Matt Kanninen wrote: > > > Discuss?
