I think battery life usage in Android are consider normal as a multi task
mobile OS.
further more I believe this can be over come by allowing users switch on or
off multi task functions.
or support long life mode.

What good about Android is that, every things are ready. html 5 and JS can
be solve easily by
porting WebKit engine over to Android and every things done.

ChromeOS, lot of things need to be done and implements, eg, multi task,
3G/GSM, wifi and etc...
look like is an re-create Android OS.

Well, of cause... it end up still whether they wanted to support a more
powerful hardware like Netbook
or some things similar to iPad, an extreme light weight mobile entertainment
media...
