My application "Radar Now!" has over 180,000 downloads (as of this writing) and averages about 50,000 uses per day.
I attribute the success of this app to three things: 1. A simple concept that appeals to the average user and is easy to understand. 2. A true as nails description in the market along with great screen shots. 3. Market description that contains key words that people are likely to search for. My app has never been reviewed that I know of. People use the market to find apps. That's pretty much it. If PC Magazine or another big media company reviews your app, sure, you're likely to get noticed but how often is that going to happen? What you need is a good concept, true, easy to understand description and good screen shots that show what your app can do. Currently, at least in my opinion, this is the best way to get your app noticed by the consumer. As for Android apps advertising other apps, that's a great idea. All we need is a network that can handle it. I'd love to add such ads to my app. -John Coryat -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
