I'd like to float this idea out there to get some developer feedback. One area I'm researching to help improve developer income is virtual currency, particularly for gaming and social apps. So basically an API for managing these transactions and digital goods. So shifting from a pure download model to some in-app income. I believe that Android Market terms may prohibit this type of app (as it is selling something digital outside of Android Market). If so, it may explain why I haven't seen a lot of these types of apps for Android.
Have any developers given virtual currency any thought?
