What I run into showing people my Eris is that they like the idea of a smartphone but don't want to have an extra $30 a month added to their mobile bill. Most do not even use much of their monthly minutes on their voice plan. My last bill had only around 30 minutes of talk on it and about 1/2 gig of data. So until someone steps forward with a data only package that can use VoIP for what few calls people do want to make the voice+data plans will be a barrier to smartphone sales.

Eric Schmidt said that 60,000 android phones ship daily...that would
me for the first three months of 2010 (until today), 5.4 million
phones have shipped!

Is it just me, or does that seem high? Considering the iPhone sold
8.7 million in Q1 2010 (http://www.tipb.com/2010/01/25/apple-releases-
q1-2010-financial-results/) that would be a huge jump for
Android...with that kind of growth android and the iPhone will be neck
on neck very soon!

I see iPhones everywhere. Probably a good quarter if not more of the
people I meet have one. I have met a grand total of three people with
Android phones (I live in Canada, so this may be the
reason)...considering Android's growth, where are all the phones?
