"Android 2.1" does not. Android is an open source OS; WMA is a proprietary
codec. I would imagine it violates Microsoft licenses to distribute an
open source WMA codec.

Some device manufacturers have licensed Windows Media codecs for Android
and include them on their devices. So, some devices will be able to play
WMA files, others will not.
