The first thing I thought when I heard their approach was, "How very
Apple." Giving you a list of the things that you are permitted to do
in the background, and by the sound of it, the OS basically does them
for you.

I still prefer Android, where basically anything is possible. If you
have a good idea for a background process that ISN'T one of Apple's
blessed seven, which platform leaves that door open for you?
