Yeah Google wont be the one to push the updates to every phone.  Thats
very much not Google's responsibility.  It's up to the manufacturer
that chose to put Android on their phones to distribute the updates.
There are Android devices out that seem to have nothing to do with
Google, that are are running that manufacturers particular
implementation of the open sourced android code.

There is no guarantee that future updates will be available for every
phone.  That will likely be impossible, if only due to Moore's law.  I
don't want the version of Android OS used in a couple years to be
limited to the hardware specs of the G1.
