I ordered a Dev Phone 2 and i am happy with it, from a technical point of view.
But it is very irritating that i paid plenty of money for "VAT+tax" and it turns out that this money is kept by Google/Brightstar. So when i got my phone i again had to pay "VAT+tax". It seems like Brightstar (that handles the shipping-logistics) are using the fact that US tax-laws does not apply to international shipping, and foreign laws does not apply in US. When complaining i got this nice reply: "Sorry about your experience, however, the international tax charges are legitimate and legal. Have a great life." Yeah, it might be legal. It is also legal to show me the finger and ask me to "Have a great life." , but it does not mean it is serious behavior. It is the kind of behavior i expect from spammers selling Roleks clocks, and Okely sunglasses. Not from Google. I hope MeeGo will make Google realize developers are not the right people to piss off.... Mats -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
