Is this just plain adb? If yes then I even could make a custom installer I 
guess.

The only difficult part I see here is the USB driver. Some user wanted to try
adb and had a very bad time finding a driver for his "LG Eve". Okay, maybe that
this is not the most wide-spread phone around, but still.. I'm expecting an
increase in direct downloads and I wouldn't like to spend hours debugging USB
thingies with users.

One thing, I'm french, and I don't really know what happens with AT&T, Verizon,
etc.. in the US.

Which carrier is most popular amongst Android users?
