The odd thing is, Google did an authorisation in Australian dollars, so Visa didn't have to convert anything. It's just that the Android Market estimation and the actual charge had a 5% difference.
Visa makes money by charging Google a fee for using the service. Presumably, Google absorbs this fee from the 30% charge they take from me. Sometimes retailers put a fee on top of a credit card purchase to cover Visas fee, however, they are supposed to disclose this. And as the only payment option available in the Android Market is a credit card, that would be a little rich of Google to do this.
