Has anyone here used Facebook's targeted ads for a casual app?
"Casual" in this context meaning something users would download for
fun (free or cheap) as opposed to addressing a specific business or
productivity need worth spending money on.

If so, has it worked?

I went through the motions to see what the options are, and though it
was interesting, I didn't yet pull the trigger on it. They let you
target specific "Likes", but you have to search for and specify ALL
relevant likes. Would be great to use wildcards, but I didn't see any
way of doing so. The cool thing is that you can type Android A...,
Android B..., HTC..., etc and the auto filled list gets populated
appropriately for your selection. I spent about 5 or 10 minutes and
got a ton of relevant "Likes" out of it.

It seemed cool for how targeted it is, but it still requires users to
take a few extra steps after clicking through to your fan page. Even
slapping a QR code in their face when they get there requires them to
open an app and scan it.

Anyone have any experience in this area?
