To quote: "They're enforcing Apple-esque rules where Google is not,
and on Google's own platform."

Android is not "Google's Own Platform" - it is open source, which
means it is fundamentally "The Worlds Platform". This mean's Amazon
is able to enforce whatever rules they choose, and Google, is not
going to do anything about it.

This is the fundamental difference between iOS, and Android - and I
suspect the primary reason most of us are developing for this
platform. As users, we can chose to vote with our feet and
pocketbooks. Google gives us this choice, Apple makes this choice for
us.
