I bought it online at Verizon and it was painful.  I wonder if the
store was a better process:

Even when I selected month-to-month and was trying to pay $800 for the
tablet
1) It kept on insisting that I had to pick a data plan for $20
2) It tacked on a $35 activation fee

I am not sure if this is just the policy or whether the website was
not implemented correctly..
