I just succeeded in installing Gingerbread. After it downloaded, when it asked me if I wanted to "Restart and Install", I manually rebooted the phone. The update immediately showed up in the status bar, so I selected it, told it to install, and that worked without problem.
I see the "Books" app is now included as a standard application. After trying it briefly, though, I don't like it nearly as much as Aldiko, so I'll stick to that. Text input is definitely improved. I still don't like the Android keyboard as much as Swype, so I'll stick with that, but I'll definitely appreciate the improved controls for moving the insertion point. Much easier than using the trackball. I haven't tried Gmail yet to see how it's changed. Peter -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
