It really is scary trying to build a business on vendors that only seem to deal in the macro, and offer no meaningful option for support. So far, from a support perspective, I'm not not impressed with any of the main stream markets that I've seen, including Amazon, Verizon, Apple, and probably worst of them all, Google. I'm willing to cut Amazon just a bit of slack since they're so new, but I'm not encouraged with their silence, lack of a timeline, etc. What an incredibly effective buzz kill on Amazon's part.
Despite our caustic rhetoric we devs are pretty understanding types if we're not left completely in the dark. From a perception standpoint, it's the difference between feeling like a partner or a pawn. I realize that this is just perception, and that none of these organizations are sitting around polished cherry tables sipping brandy, smoking cigars and laughing maniacally as they conjure up some new way to put the screws to the minions, but damn if it doesn't feel like that any time that there is anything even slightly negative to warn about, talk about, or clarify. Now, since I've gotten that off my chest, can I please have a free pass to Google I/O? :) On Apr 3, 10:55 pm, TreKing <[email protected]> wrote: > On Sun, Apr 3, 2011 at 9:33 PM, Chris Stewart <[email protected]> wrote: > > I'm surprised, kind of, that it's been this bad for 3-4 days.
