Hello,
one thing is unclear to me in your approach. In my opinion, "Android
development" doesn't really mean something. According to the type of app that
you want to develop there are plenty of other skills to take into consideration,
and these are not Android specific.
Are you into developing a game, or want to be hired as a game developer? Then,
it's better if you already have some game dev experience. In some cases knowing
OpenGL may be useful or required, and this is not Android specific.
Are you interested in developing network-intensive apps? Then having some
experience or learning networking, multi-threading, handling latencies, etc...
is as important as learning the Android platform specifics.
Do you want to develop apps which offer the same functionality as websites? Then
maybe that you don't even need to learn Android dev. You could learn how to
optimize websites for smartphones. Such optimization can go very far, result in
interfaces which look like apps, and all this require specific skills.
So, if you are on a tight schedule, the question is what kind of development
experience you have ("web development" is unclear, it can be many things), and
what kind of app you want to develop.
In my opinion, when developing a serious/complex app, Android specific skills
represent about 20% or less of what's required, and general programming as well
as technical-field-specific knowledge, the other 80%. For simpler projects, I'd
say about 50/50.
