Just judging by what I've seen in the discussions I'd tend to agree with you. It's unfortunate, especially since the framework/developer team provides invaluable input (I'm specifically thinking of Ms. Hackborn and Mr. Guy).
As a side note, nice work on Tasker. I personally use Locale, but that was mainly a time-to-market thing (I have a pretty complex set of commands, and learned how to get it to work using the Locale approach before Tasker was out). I still recommend Tasker routinely (I just left a job as a sales rep for T-Mobile). Back on topic, has anyone had any success suggesting any sort of Market changes? Even on alternative markets. They may be more prone to copy something from the Amazon Appstore, for instance, than just developer input.
