First of all I think monochrome is an interesting display, and it save battery (current Android phone biggest challenge).
For application wise, say I want to build an mp3 device with some additional functionality, Android is still a pretty perfect choice, the problem is how well Android in supporting monochrome display, will it look weird (which I believe there's pretty good monochrome display out there ard, back in the HandSpring Visor age).
