The problem was the space in "C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk
Replacing the space by "~1" gave me an error "Folder must exist".
I moved the entire Android folder up one level
C:\Android\android-sdk
This worked further but failed later

I created another AVD "my_avd2" and deleted the original "my_avd"
Tried again but failed

Notice from the timestamps how long it is taking!
I am tempted to uninstall the SDK and renstall it at C:\Android
\android-sdk
I'll wait to hopefully hear from Xavier what he thinks.
