So is *everyone* seeing the comment ordering as half empty? Haven't we in past complained that you could mark comments as helpful, unhelpful, or spam, and we were mad that Google didn't do anything with those votes?
As for me, I like what the web interface is doing, and I wish the phone client would do the same. I think it did for a while, but I got the new Market on one of my phones, and the comments are chronological. The one thing I'd like is to stop freaking out about the three latest comments. You can have hundreds of great comments but you can still be running scared worrying about the latest three clueless or malicious users. For example, someone thought my app wasn't very well documented compared to a $1500 software package he has (hmm, I wonder why). That's the top comment on the phone, but not on the web interface. I know there are some problems with outdated comments and so forth. When I discovered Google was actually using the information, I emailed my users to go out and vote for the most helpful and unhelpful comments. That's helped. Too bad Google is backing away from that. I can still see all the comments in my Developer Console in order. That hasn't changed.
