Hi First run your emulator and then fired adb logcat then only it will show you the detail of your activity..

You also need the latest ADT plugin too. Did you install it? http://developer.android.com/sdk/eclipse-adt.html#installing Apparently there is no one in charge of technical writing at Android so we get fairly disorganized documentation. And then we get yelled at if you didn't read some obscure sentence somewhere. Docs need to be bullet-points with 1,2,3 type steps. Put the details elsewhere.
