While your tutorial is nice, it really isn't a real world location system.
In the real world, you need to test for accuracy and have some sort of
priority of which signal to take.

For GPS locks, you may need up to 30 seconds before one can be obtained. For
wireless locks, you might be a location in five seconds but it has a 7500
meter accuracy. Taking the first lock isn't always such a hot idea.

In cities, especially major ones, GPS doesn't work well because of
buildings. Usually the wireless network works reliably and reports
accurately. Often in rural areas, wireless fixes they are so poor that they
are unusable. The accuracy might be reported as 100 meters but the location
is actually 500 km away! I've seen this often.

A "one size fits all" routine with no options is going to disappoint a lot
of users.

If you beefed up your tutorial a bit, it would certainly help those who want
to implement location based apps.

p.s. I have a location based app with 1.5 million active users...
