add-ons (legally).  It doesn't surprise me that it is "hacked" onto devices 
that shouldn't support that.  It isn't that hard to get the market on any 
rooted device (I installed a market.apk file to my Nook Simple Touch).

For Google, It actually makes sense to get the Play Store onto as many 
devices as possible (including the iPhone, Blackberry, etc) - so they can 
sell their music, books and movies.  Ironically - it could not include the 
apps, as this is a major differentiator for "with Google" phones - and 
obviously the apps wouldn't run on the other phones.

Bottom line, I would expect the Play store to expand, which should confuse 
things even more.
