I heard a few minutes ago that the jury had decided against Google on copyright infringement in the Oracle vs Google case but couldn't decide on fair use. I think this is going to raise the issue of our ridiculous copyright laws to the forefront. For one thing I have a hard time with the idea of a company which acquired Java two years after Google acquired Android suing for infringement. Unfortunately with publicly held companies execs feel they better sue because the stockholders will scream otherwise and demand their resignation. It is one part of capitalism that really sucks.
