I agree with you Kevin. I wish Google would own the update process and not
the carriers. At least the core update. I suppose the problem with that
though is if the core from say 2.3 to 4 is enough of a change that the
individual device manufacturers need to provide driver updates.. it makes
it impossible for android 4+ to just be pushed out to all devices without
the concern of sensors, etc not working right. I don't know if that was (or
is) the case, but I suspect that is why google can't own the update
process.
