I used to work for a company that had an android app with a few million
Android installs on Google Play. They did release on the Amazon store, and
it was the best of the alternative app stores in terms of netting them
downloads, but that was still just a single digit percentage of their total
downloads. Myself, I only release on Google Play. If I get to the point
where my apps can support a small company, then I'll think about releasing
for other app stores. In the mean time, if I'm not "making it" on Google
Play, then the other app stores won't change that fact.

Cheers,
Jim
