Yes but  for example if you had started with the commercial licensed
version (so header licence different), you could also just obtain the
GPL version instead (only license terms differ).
(And whatever patches you made yould apply to it the same way.).

So what I mean is that if Qtextended (well nokia...) allows to get
source as GPLv3, then you can switch (as if you restart work from
another version).
(if additionnal patches are ok to convert to gpl3 of course)
