There are definitely problems with the RNDIS driver, though I'm, afraid I don't know what. Regardless of what's on the FR it shouldn't bluescreen.

There have been usb net changes in android recently, which may account for the current behaviour. I noticed that on the recent images the interface has stopped showing up as usb0 and shows up as eth1 instead.

Sorry, am no help as usual...

Hi David,

at home I use Ubuntu 8.04 LTS on my desktop and while beeing at the "train
office" on my way home I boot Ubuntu 8.10 from an usb stick. Both works
fine. Well, I think it's an kernel issue or possibly Windows borked RNDIS
driver. Maybe a future kernel release will fix it again.

Cheers,
Heiko

That's a marked improvement from the last time I tried, when the Android
freerunner made my windows workstation bluescreen.

Can you use a live CD or bootable USB stick with linux?

Dear list,

at work I am forced to use Win XP on my notebook. I successfully
installed
Neo1973.inf [1] and got ssh access on OM2008.12 / SHR working, however
using Android and adb.exe the device can not be used. The device manager
shows error 10 (device could not be started) for "Linux USB
Ethernet/RNDIS
Gadget". Anyone knows how to get it hooked up on XP?

Btw, I am using Michaels latest rootfs and kernel (v13).

Cheers,
Heiko
