Hi, I take it back. I am still a little unclear on whether it is actually possible to install a kernel module without having to root the phone. As I said before, I am almost certain rooting is necessary but I don't think the question has been fully answered. If I get the configuration setting for a carrier phone and I successfully compile my own kernel module (driver) against, is there any way to load the kernel module on the phone without rooting it?
