There is an app called Lookout in the market that supposedly scans new apps before installing them, but I'm not sure of it effacacy, and apps are not the only vector for virii. It will also scan widgets, and includes a phone locator and some backup functionality. You can also remotely kill your phone if you think it was stolen, and not simply misplaced in your home or such.
