I'm only one user, but I would be much more comfortable granting
permission to a specific (list of) connection(s) than I am granting
general access. Despite being only one, I think it is the right thing
to do to specify how that connection can be used. Perhaps instead of a
whitelist, a certain format could be approved, and the connection
would only be allowed to pass data that follows that format.
