We are in the process of investigating the feasibility of developing an on-device MDM client that will leverage some enterprise device management features on the Android platform. There are a few questions that I have not been able to get the answers to, so I was wondering if someone could help me answer them or point me in the right direction.
1.) With the release of Honeycomb there are certain APIs related to encryption that were made available. Are those dependent on the HW platform supporting encryption or is it simply SW-encryption only? 2.) There are APIs provided to disable Bluetooth on a device, but I didn't see any indication that it would be "grayed out" to prevent a user from re-enabling it. Is there a way to achieve this? If not, would a periodic call to the IsEnabled() method, to see if the user enabled Bluetooth, be taxing on the battery to the point where it will drain it within a few hours? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Security Discussions" group.
