Check if you have agreed to provide admin permission for the app, if so disable it and then try to uninstall, Have you rooted this device? If so and it may be more tricker to remove, When you say hijacking? what happens do you get ransom notice like pay me some money ? or Can you share the malware application here ? Try installing different free vendors , antiy, kaspersky, sophos , one of them should pick it up.
