Hi Stepan, The work you are proposing is very doable, but you should ask yourself if in the end it will be worth the effort to you. It will be fairly easy for you to adapt AndroMDA to use NSUML, but the problem I expect you would encounter immediately after doing that port is trying to reuse the existing AndroMDA code generation cartridges.
The existing cartridges (and their facacdes) will have direct and indirect dependencies upon UML1.4 that will create more work for you. > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Sunday, April 04, 2004 4:45 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [Andromda-devel] (no subject) > > > Hi evrybody > > I have just suscribe to mdr dev mailing list and I'm waiting for the > reply. > > For ArgoUML XMI 1.2 support, I think it would be very difficult (even > the ArgoTeam prefer not to try it) because ArgoUML is based an the > old version of NSUML and the "new" one has a different architecture. > They are currently working an a metaModelFacade for being Repository > independent and migrate to MDR. > But ArgoUML code is old and the architecture has modified several > times and it's very hard to know if they really (in the next 12 > months) pretend to perform it. > > In fact I'm not very optimistic about ArgoUML (I have look at the > source code for a week), I'm waiting hard for the (OpenSource) > Eclipse UML modelling plugin but no date was given yet.
