Well .. I think 33MB really is too much .. not everyone is on a high bandwidth internet connection (at work I can download at 15kb/s max, imagine that), and firewalls are often a pain too (I couldn't connect to the remote repo when I was working for at a customer, seems not to be uncommon) I also donât understand why having another zip, which is lighter, is more work to maintain ? just bundle less and give the file another name I agree users con be confused by the different dists, but if we label it andromda-src-3.0-RC1-light.zip or something it should be easy to understand (most open source projects that do this simply append 'LE' (light edition)) [CB] What's the purpose though? Didn't you just say in the previous message that you don't even download distributions? Also what if a version of a library changes....the "light version" won't reflect this. I can do it if you want -- Wouter > -----Original Message----- > From: Chad Brandon [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Thursday, March 10, 2005 3:15 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Cc: [email protected] > Subject: RE: [Andromda-devel] andromda distribution > > I donât think we need a light distribution, whatâs wrong with downloading > 33 MB?
