Our transformation tool -- MoTMoT -- is an AndroMDA 3 cartridge for
model transformation. Release 1.1 will come out in a couple of days.
Have you read the related papers? In the long run, we'll integrate
MoTMoT with AndroMDA's code templates to have a smooth transition
between model to model and model to text transformations. I've
noticed on the mailing list that you're evaluating ATL. We had a
diploma thesis on that language and its tools as well. ATL is most
usefull when source and target languages are closely related. The ATL
engine is also restricted to outplace transformations (although
Frédéric Jouault et al. will probably fix this in future releases).
As a researcher, I'm in favor of working in parallel and compare the
results from time to time. In Antwerp, we're continuing with MoTMoT
(a graph transformation approach) and it would be great if somebody
else integrates AndroMDA with ATL.

Kristiaan Lenaerts will integrate SDM with OCL. This will enable you
to combine a visual and textual approach to model element selection
and transformation. MoTMoT will use code from YATL4MDR to run the OCL
on MDR.

Bart Du Bois has recently completed an awesome Java parser based on
Eclipse. He reads JDT info from sources ánd libraries to fill an MDR
extent and write the result to XMI. His metamodel does not yet
include all statement-level information but it would be a great
starting point to realize your idea and even work in both directions
(generating code and parsing it in again after manual
changes/extensions etc...)

Next to Kristiaan, Olaf Muliawan will continue his work on MoTMoT (and
hence AndroMDA based M2M transformations). He completed his diploma
thesis this year and will start on his PhD research after his holiday.
I'll announce my own contributions later.

Nice to hear from you,
Pieter Van Gorp.
