in the beginning when I wrote the first bpm4struts version I was using Poseidon (activity graphs) and everything worked out quite well; but when the cartridge grew, and more feature were added I quickly realized I needed a more powerful UML editor at the same time I tried MagicDraw and the most apparent helpful feature were the profiles and the pool of tagged values (not simple strings as with Poseidon) next I realized there were far more UML feature for activity graph than I could imagine, and I changed the cartridge to make use of feature I did not know existed (parameters on transitions, tagged value on any element, deferring to operations from within an action state, etc..) that was a year ago, so I had the time to get to know the JMI API (http://galaxy.andromda.org/docs/jmi-uml1.4/index.html) a little better (it's a Java API that allows you to access the elements of a UML model) and it's at that moment you learn the limits of what UML can do for you, and how you can turn it in something useful for your projects .. hence MDA :-) so because I'm working relatively often with the JMI API I know what I need to be able to do with a UML editor, and so far I found only one tool can do the job (and has some additional nice features, such as changing all properties for many elements at once, ..) -- Wouter Zoons - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.andromda.org/ _________________________________________________________ Reply to the post : http://galaxy.andromda.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1412#1412 Posting to http://forum.andromda.org/ is preferred over posting to the mailing list! ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM.
