Just a guess here: when you say you are "using hibernate 3", do you mean you 
have the .jar files installed for hibernate 3 only, or that you have set the 
"hibernateVersion" namespace property?



The AndroMDA default is to generate code for Hibernate v2.  To get it to 
generate code for version 3, you have to set the "hibernateVersion" property to 
"3" in your <project>mdaconfandromda.xml file.
