I am fiddling with using my zaurus borzoi to talk to my Garmin Vista cx gps for use on a bike trip. I am trying to use gpsbabel to download information generated by Marengo (a web-based program that simply generates routes). This all works fine from my desktop (running debian), but I don't want to lug that around.
I got the following error message: /home/dlj0 >gpsbabel -r -i gpx -f route.txt -o garmin -F usb: USB suport is not available in this build. Now, is that the kernel giving me that message? Or is it gpsbabel? gpsbabel -V lists it as 1.2.5 I installed Angstrom about a month ago, and have used ipkg update/upgrade to keep it up to date, but I suppose this is not updating my kernel. It is listed as zImage-2.6.20.6 20 in /usr/lib/ipkg/alternatives/zImage. I configured the usb part using the settings applet, setting it as a serial device. dmesg says that "Gadget serial v2.2 loaded and "Gadget serial v2.2 bound" The Garmen felt the power from the Z, but otherwise did not respond. I am using a mini-a adapter on the Z end, then the usual cable to the Garmin. Any pointers will be appreciated. -- David L. Johnson Become MicroSoft-free forever.
