The first proble that I found was that my USB bluetooth dongle had not been automatically recognised. That was easy enough to fix with modprobe ohci-hcd. The next problem I cannot figure out though: The files "hciconfig" and "rfcomm" are not on the device. I also checked in the hdimage1.tgz. $ tar -tzf x11-image-spitz.tar.gz |grep hci ../usr/lib/ipkg/info/kernel-module-ohci-hcd.control ../usr/lib/ipkg/info/kernel-module-ohci-hcd.postinst ../usr/lib/ipkg/info/kernel-module-ohci-hcd.postrm ../usr/lib/ipkg/info/kernel-module-ohci-hcd.list ../usr/lib/ipkg/info/kernel-module-hci-vhci.control ../usr/lib/ipkg/info/kernel-module-hci-vhci.postinst ../usr/lib/ipkg/info/kernel-module-hci-vhci.postrm ../usr/lib/ipkg/info/kernel-module-hci-vhci.list ../usr/lib/ipkg/info/kernel-module-hci-uart.control ../usr/lib/ipkg/info/kernel-module-hci-uart.postinst ../usr/lib/ipkg/info/kernel-module-hci-uart.postrm ../usr/lib/ipkg/info/kernel-module-hci-uart.list ../usr/lib/ipkg/info/kernel-module-hci-usb.control ../usr/lib/ipkg/info/kernel-module-hci-usb.postinst ../usr/lib/ipkg/info/kernel-module-hci-usb.postrm ../usr/lib/ipkg/info/kernel-module-hci-usb.list ../etc/modutils/hci_uart.conf ../etc/bluetooth/hcid.conf ../etc/bluetooth/hciattach ../sbin/hcid ../sbin/hciattach ../lib/modules/2.6.21/kernel/drivers/usb/host/ohci-hcd.ko ../lib/modules/2.6.21/kernel/drivers/bluetooth/hci_vhci.ko ../lib/modules/2.6.21/kernel/drivers/bluetooth/hci_uart.ko ../lib/modules/2.6.21/kernel/drivers/bluetooth/hci_usb.ko Similar results for rfcomm. I have tried reinstalling the bluez-utils package, no change. I also tried to check for this file in the ipk (bluez-utils_3.12-r3_armv5te.ipk) but this does not seem to work $ tar -tzf bluez-utils_3.12-r3_armv5te.ipk gzip: stdin: not in gzip format tar: Child returned status 1 tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors So, I have a few questions: 1. Is there any reason that "ohci-hcd" is not mentioned in /etc/modutils? 2. Am I missing something basic in relation to hciconfig and rfcomm? 3. Is there something wrong with what I am trying to do to examine the contents of the .ipk? And a final question not related to any of the above: 4. What are all the .jffs2 files in the spitz download dir for? Are they to be used by spitz at all? Thanks for your help, Eoghan ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo!
