Hi,

I am using a Sharp Zaurus SL-C1000 with the latest angstrom-x11-gpe
image (200709) and want to produce a simple beep out of a C application
to indicate a warning state. The problem I face is that using the ioctl
command of the C library does not work for the Zaurus (it produces no
beep). I also found out that the command

|> echo -e "\007" > /dev/console|

in a terminal (as root) also produces no beep (it does on normal desktop
machines). So it might be a mixer setting problem, but maybe there is no
PC speaker support at all. Has anyone experienced the same problem? Can
anyone try the terminal command on its machine? I can play *.wav files
using aplay, so at least some sound is working.

Thanks,
Matthias
