Hello, tried to get angstrom work on a Fujitsu Siemens loox 420 pda. Had contact with a developer of some kernel patches. Tried to get it work with precompiled kernel and root file system. Almost everything works, except screen is not shown correct. tried to build a own kernel with patches from the person i have contacted before. Kernel 2.6.21-hh20 compiles with arm linux gcc compiler on a debian lenny x64 machine. but does not start angstrom distribution on my pda. it seems to hang after the line "freeing unused kernel memory 108 k". Now my questions:
1. what arm gcc version is reqired to build a customized kernel for this version? 2. what can i do to get the machine started with my own kernel that seems to compile. Maybe i need to enable some features to get the system started. 3. Is this the correct group for those kind of questions. 4. can i compile the kernel with GCC version 4.3.2? Set up with gnu-arm-installer.sh. Brings several errormessages: LD .tmp_vmlinux1 kernel/built-in.o: In function `getnstimeofday': utsname_sysctl.c:(.text+0xd7c0): undefined reference to `__umoddi3' kernel/built-in.o: In function `do_gettimeofday': utsname_sysctl.c:(.text+0xd888): undefined reference to `__udivdi3' utsname_sysctl.c:(.text+0xd8a4): undefined reference to `__umoddi3' kernel/built-in.o: In function `do_timer': utsname_sysctl.c:(.text+0xe854): undefined reference to `__udivdi3' utsname_sysctl.c:(.text+0xe874): undefined reference to `__umoddi3' make: *** [.tmp_vmlinux1] Fehler 1 Thanks, Harald. _______________________________________________ Angstrom-distro-users mailing list Angstrom-distro-users@linuxtogo.org http://lists.linuxtogo.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/angstrom-distro-users
